Travel = Inspiration to Write.....Longing for the Sun!!!

For me, there is just something about traveling that brings out the creative side in me. I can probably do more writing in a two weeks in Thailand, than I could in three months here…..and that is not just sitting on a beach writing, but spending most of the day exploring…..just when I do sit down and write, I feel inspired…..the words just flow. I’m sure I’m not the only writer that feels this way? Last winter I spent three weeks in Thailand…..I have made several trips there before and I love everything about it…..friendly people, great scuba diving, the best food in the world, jungles, ruins, amazing beaches, VERY affordable (polite way of saying it’s cheap), and it’s always HOT!!! In the three weeks I spent in Thailand last winter, I wrote over a third of my first novel, The Map.
I’ve been making good progress on the next Logan Nash Adventure; 2012: Mayan Cenote, but I can’t wait to escape to somewhere hot and tropical to give me that surge of inspiration to finish my next novel. Everyone finds inspiration in different places…..for me, the moment I get to the airport I feel that excitement…..a new adventure waiting to unfold…..a blank page waiting to be written.

Guest Speaker at Writing/Marketing Class

I had the privilege of being invited to be a guest speaker at a writing/marketing class at the local college. It was only about nine months ago I had sat in that very class.....I found the class very motivational and inspirational when I had taken it. I remember how I couldn't wait until the next class. Until the time I had taken  that class, I never really had much contact of anyone with a passion for writing, in fact, as many of you know, most people didn't even know I was writing a book until it was released less than two weeks ago.....I wanted to save it as a surprise to my friends and family.
I find myself recharged just being around other writers, who share the same passion as you....sharing ideas, marketing plans, different writing styles and hearing about the progress and trails that each other is having in their journey to becoming a published author. It truly is a journey, with many twists, turns and bumps in the road, but to hold the finished product in your hands makes the long hard journey worthwhile.

First Copies!

I’m sure even the most seasoned writer can remember when he/she held the first copies of their first book. The Map, was released in both hardcover and softcover. Now I’m even more motivated than ever to complete the second Logan Nash adventure, 2012: Mayan Cenote.

                       The Map
        A Logan Nash Adventure

When eccentric billionaire philanthropist Colton Braxton III is diagnosed with leukemia, he concocts a wild scheme. Always the black sheep of his family, he plans a treasure quest—his chance to be known for what he truly is—a passionate adventurer with a spirit that defies his social status. His bizarre will consists of the ultimate scavenger hunt, one that challenges even the most hardcore adventurer.
A copy of the map to the mystery fortune ends up in the hands of adventurer Logan Nash, a budding treasure hunter who has forsaken that life after a near-death encounter with the unscrupulous treasure hunter Dr. Victor Kane.
Nash is drawn back into that life by the hope of not only untold riches, but the promise of the ultimate adventure. Nash’s pursuit of Braxton’s treasure takes him from the depths of the sea to exotic lands spanning all four corners of the Earth where he faces romance, danger, and betrayal—and the nemesis of his past, who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the treasure.
